Efficient office space management is an essential requirement for the smooth functioning of any business. As the workforce and scale of a company grow it becomes harder to manage the available space. This space not only shelters all your employees, but is a strategic tool for productivity, collaboration, and growth. The right office environment can equip our employees with the required motivation to tackle big, important projects.

You are expected to develop apps/software that allows us to use available space effectively. Few features among many that your app can implement are:

"Hot-Desking" (i.e. No Assigned Seating), this gives employees the liberty to sit anywhere and with different people every day. It has been suggested in many studies that constantly changing your work environment, people result in better productivity.

"Overlap Zones" to help encourage spontaneous collaboration among your employees is designing your space to allow for "overlap zones," which make it more likely your employees will run into each other. Which in turn results in better productivity and growth

Since most of our team works remotely, we are expecting a communication app or software that can keep conversations organised and easy to follow, as opposed to sifting through long email chains that only some people read and even fewer respond to. It should also enable us to see how employees are utilizing their time, and empower them to solve problems faster.

The app should encourage the use of emoji reactions, which allow the team to respond to requests, approve actions and acknowledge gratitude without triggering notifications. It could also be an interface which integrates all the communication tools into one platform; an example of this is Slack.

In an ever-changing and rapidly globalizing world the options to study aboard seem to be increasing, but aren’t that accessible to everyone. This is the gap the GlobalShala aims to bridge.

You are expected to design and develop an innovative mobile or web app which targets not only students but our employees and/or our university collaborators and encourages as well as facilitates their journey of studying abroad by bringing GlobalShala into their hands.
